Hi there. I have a small suggestion.

I was a avid player. And noticed that Wood elver Kite shields gave more armor then even a ETS or DSR heater shield. As far as i know that Heater shields are supposed to have a higher armor rating then wood kite shields.

Then a suggestion. Is it possible to bring in a new type of ore to make it more interesting ? just one would do. Call it Omega ore / Logs. also with the same amount of finding them as zulu ores and logs. I mean a bit more rare then zulu. But it would be interesting.

Maybe a special type of hide , or would that mean creating a new creature ?

There are already Rare Omega Ostards/Frenzieds, so thats something they should think about for sure :^)

I think its been like this forever, wooden kite shields beat out all other shields for some reason.

Zulu hotel shards have been running with this ore/log balance for almost over 20 years now for a reason, it works.

best shield on zulu always have been exceptional kite shield from darkness & Elven logs by lvl 5 crafters. 2.1 quality rating usually Ebon twighlight saphire and Dark sable ruby are 2.2 quality and Radiant nimbus diamond 2.25 plus they have superior magical protection wooden kite don’t have. But wooden kit move faster has they are lighter and they have no dex penilaty so you gain on attack. It’s the best a warrior will wear.

Exceptional elven wooden kite shield crafted by Menzo, that’s what you need.

Heres my question again. Why is Elven and darkness Kite shield giving more armor ?
Darkness Logs 140 2.05
Elven Logs 145 2.1

The rating is less then
Ebon twighlight saphire 130
(see notes down below) 2.2 Reduce Dex penalty by 3
75% Water protection
Reduce spell damage on wearer
Magic Immunity to Circle 1 and 2 spells
Dark sable ruby 130
(see notes down below) 2.2 Reduce dex penalty by 3
75% Fire protection
Reduce damage to wearer
Magic immunity to Circle 1 and 2 spells
Radiant nimbus diamond 140
(see notes down below) 2.25 Reduce dex penalty by 3
75% Air protection
75% Earth protection
75% Necro protection
Immunity to Circle 1,2,3 and 4 spells

The rating specifically less then DSR / ETS and RND.
So why are they still giving more armor ?

Created a post about this in April.
Crafting is such a big part of UO and having the crafting material in the condition they are now, is very frustrating.

The shield situation is funny.
Elven and Darkness logs are much easier to come by than ETS/DSR/RND.
I use to create Elven/Darkness kite shields by the 100’s and sell them on my vendor for about 10K each.
