Hi!

Is bowcraft buged?

When you cant use a type a log for example crystal, it says you need 125 bowcraft.
But if i use items to get 125 and create a crystal crossbow it says you create the item “difficulty 111”

I used about 100k “high end” logs the last days just to get bowcraft from 120 till 120.3.

It’s weird, but it’s not bugged. Think of it as like needing to be a certain height to ride an amusement park ride to use a certain ore/log. Picking the highest difficulty craftable item is your best bet, or just give up. Bowcraft is such a resource sink

4 days later and gained 2.0.

Why is it so difficult compared to the rest of the crafter skills?

cause the gap between skill requirement and difficulty is pretty large for bowcraft at higher levels, plus they require a decent amount of logs for heavy xbows.

Craft thunder xbows instead, they have higher base difficulty. Fire and Ice bows work fine too.

I’m having the same issue. I was able to make some before (silverleaf), and after I made 15 or so I wasn’t able to make anymore thunder xbows, fire bows or ice bows. Can anyone clarify why that is? I was at 125, and the difficulty was 140. No matter what log I used, I couldn’t make any, even silver leaf under identical conditions.

They require reagents. IIRC, Fire bows require Sulphurous Ash, Ice bows require Spider’s Silk, Thunder xbows require Black Pearl. Make sure you have reagents in your backpack, then just do regular bowcraft. The elemental bows should show up in the gump.

The reason you couldn’t make more of them is because 1) you ran out of reagents or possibly 2) you had a stack of reagents insuffuciently large to craft a bow (e.g. if a fire bow requires 10 sulphurous ash (SA), and you have a stack of SA with less than 10 along side a much bigger stack, the game might sometimes try to use the smaller stack, find that it’s too small and thus think that you haven’t got enough reagents).

Just to make things worse my bow craft macro got screwed up and sold 5 days of harvested logs hahaha ffs

Thanks for the insight dude, I had no idea reagents were involved.

Don’t worry I’ve done shit like that. I accidentally sold like 120k iron, presumably during a save the target up meant to craft was select what to sell instead. After playing around with it for a while (a macro to make money with tinkering) I had my macro craft like 10 items, .move them to a bag, and then saying sell bag. I don’t know if that’s helpful to anyone/teetering on a Rube Goldberg machine but yeah.
