So for some time we have been seeing an odd pattern in the levels of the loot. It seems that very often good or similar items come in “waves”, has anyone else noticed this? Not sure if it would have something to do with the way the RNG works in POL099 or something…

      A few example:
      – Early on, once we found a book (nbook/ebook) we would typically find another within 1-2 days, then nothing for weeks.

      – I have seen a couple of good bloody weapons, both found within 2-3 days of each other, 0 the rest of the 4 months we have been going now.

      – GM wepons often follow this pattern. In a week we could find 4 of some really good wep, then 0 for months (lothian is a prime example for us).

      – I have recently been hunting in small bursts, and in not even 1 full bag of items (so less than 150 items) I have found the same elemental prot on most of the jewels a few times. Yesterday I had a blackrock bag, where 4 jewels roll blackrock, the day before I had 3 free action + skill mod jewels but almost nothing else etc. Just seems that items are often very similar. These are not very rare items by any means (though free action + skill is not something you find in every bag, and this had 3-4)

-Most recently Tomes of power seem to drop pretty much never. Unless hunting a lot it will take days and days before I see one. Yet one of my guild mates found 3 (!) warrior tomes the first day they were available. I have yet to see a “wave” of tomes come around. And since the tomes were released almost one month ago we have found about 3 more warrior tomes, so 50% in 1 day then 50% in 27 days pretty much.

      – I seldom find high stat mods (duh) but a while back I found a piece of escape artist’s, and guess what, an acrobat item was in the same bag of loot, which was from killing just a few bosses (wouldn’t be surprised if they both dropped from 1 boss but cannot be sure). This represent a greatly disproportionate amount of the high mods I have found in a bag of 50 or so items.

This is typical the kind of “patterns” you would imagine seeing in a system with random loot, where you develop a bit of a confirmation bias once you start to see it and then just become more convinced with time. So I’m curious if anyone else has noticed anything similar.

Kinda disappointed at ppl overall for not giving any answers, and the lack of feedback overall from staff?

as a new player i dont have a good sample size, so i cant speak too well to this point. However, I seem to get a ton of barding tomes. My face goes from AWWW YEAAA!!! to pure dread after I find my 4th barding tome. :\

I’d love to see some improved loot, especially when I hear how hard it is, and when I do get one…its useless to me.

There aren’t really any certain conclusions to be drawn from this, I was just curious.

Guessing it could be a case of Frequency illusion, but it’s just so blatantly obvious at times, idk…
