DreamsFor those having problems making chests that gives keys here is an explanation on how it works:
When crafting the chests there is a chance depending on the crafter skill on making them lockable.
If failed you will not receive a key, however you can make it lockable with tinkering by using tinker tools on a key and then the chest.
Next update will remove the chance and make it always give keys.

This isn’t really helping for lower levels of lockpicking
When you make a locked chest this way it get a difficulty of Tinkering skill +20, no matter which chest you make
That’s all good but the issue is making a locked chest seems to have a skill requirement
I’ve tried almost 100 times crafting a chest with 33-40 skill, 40 skill should result in a 60 difficulty chest (pickable at 50 skill level) but without success
with 78 skill I have about a 5-10% success rate but that creates a chest with 98 difficulty which puts me back to square 1
