Frequency of gems while mining seems pretty low for the amount of risk high-profile mining in unsafe zones is.
Its gotten a little bit more difficult to pull off an extended macro for mining in unsafe mines with more people actively out and pillaging. Which is fine, all part of the game and the gamble.
But the amount of gems given in return for the risk seem really, really low. Someone mentioned in another thread that active hunting is being hindered by the fact that good loot was low frequency and thus made it harder to lose gear and still pick yourself up and get back out there. The fact that good gems and starter level armor is so difficult to make might be contributing to this.
There might be a good reason it is low (would be lame if the game was saturated with high level armor and there was nothing special about it), but I’m just curious what others think about this.
