How do you all feel about adding a deed on a Provisioner or Architect that would allow you to change your characters name?

I could see the possibility of people doing illegal things and then a quick name change to hide kinda thing? Maybe if it was possible for devs to easily track name changes so they can easily figure out that what ever name did this and then changed there name to this. If that makes sense? Maybe this isnt a issue at all now and they can easily track that, i donno, just seen the post and this was my first thought.

I believe actions and activity on the shard aren’t logged by the character name itself but by the CHARID of said character. Every character made has a series of letters that gives them an identity in the scripts.

It may make the process of discovering who did it slightly more complicated and a little bit harder to prove though I suppose.

Ya k wasnt to sure it was just the first thing to pop in my head. Its nice to think that situation will never arise and we wouldnt have to worry about that, but thats just not realistic. Otherwise i do like the idea. Sometimes u do just get sick of a name, or wish i would have named my char something else or whatever. Not really a big deal, but would be a nice option forsure.

Seems to me it might open the gate for people to macro/boost characters to 5 just to sell/trade them, and might steal a bit of the earn your own skills from the game.

But I’m not exactly opposed to the idea though.

I’m pretty sure it’s also logged by account name. Since the account wouldn’t change, only the name, it shouldn’t make it any more difficult.
