I’ve been on this shard for around a week and to be honest, I don’t see anything that points to a newbie friendly Shard – or am I missing something?
Everywhere I go, pretty much everything just kills me – either instantly or I have to run away.
Venture from Trinsic gate about 2 screens south, dead.
Venture close to town in Yew, dead.
The only real place for any newbies to go is to stay in town? From my experience, this game is about hunting, fighting, experiencing the game, no way it’s fun to sit and watch your chars macro for 3-4 weeks before you can do anything… Then I haven’t even touched on armor/items as yet.
There has to be a place/area for even newbies to have fun in this game surely?
My Suggestion/s:
Have a newbie friendly area – town would be preferable. IE Britt was always good as you had the Britt Graveyard for newbies to go mess around in.
How about newbie quests? – Perhaps allow newbies to work for their armor – based on their class IE mage. Once you succeed in the quest or quests, you can earn a full set of good enough armor to start this game with and to venture into other dungeons.Let me know your thoughts?

A newbie hunting ground would help for sure.
Something with basics mobs. No spell casters etc.Thing is, most players on here are vets (with 5 – 10, some even 20 years of experience) so what might seem easy for them aren’t for newer player, or those coming back after a decade break from the game.
I’ve tried helping newer players myself, but evidently they end up leaving.
So far I’ve had 7 players (14 online characters) leave due to there not being natural progression. My suggestion:
Basic mobs in Brit GY – no casters or physical immune’s (specters can chill at the mountain passes so they can still be pulled easily)
I can’t recall if Brit Sewers are open, but that would make a solid newb dungeon as well.January 6, 2019 at 5:47 pm #2686Nagash
AdministratorThanks for pointing it out. I will see what can be done.

AdministratorWe will be adding a newbie dungeon soon. Location will be south west of britain bank (old newbie dungeon spot on zhc) in the small guard house.

Great news!
Will there be quests for armor and/or items etc?
January 6, 2019 at 7:45 pm #2691Nagash
AdministratorWill see what we can do about that. Perhaps adding escort missions might be a good idea. You can use the gold reward to purchase whichever armor you desire at the armor/weapon vendors.

Thanks Nagash 🙂
If possible, can the mobs drop arrows and some reagents?
Not enough so people would purposely farm them, but enough to sustain the rangers/mages hunting there.January 7, 2019 at 5:10 pm #2696Nagash
AdministratorI will place some vendors inside where you can purchase the reagents and arrows. Some mobs will drop gold. Adding archers and mages will make the dungeon too difficult.

The quests would be the most interesting part for me to be honest.
Items for a newbie is quite scarce.

Thank you for this dungeon. I just ventured in there with my mage
My mage has around 90 mace fighting also(been sparring for a bit to increase str).
1. For some reason your char goes out of war mode automatically and stop attacking the crits.
2. This is most definitely not a place for mages as a newbie will never have the spells, nor the regeants nor the funds for regeants to hunt or play here.
3. I’ve cleared the dungeon and made around 300 gold total with no relevant items to use at all (perhaps re-look this part a bit).
4. For a newbie dungeon, the vendors are normal price – ie high chance of newbies not affording much or anything in there
5. Perhaps create ranked areas? IE, the better you get the better the crits get with better rewards (armour, items) – Perhaps even a started gm set that can be gained there?All-in-all it’s a good starting place. Perhaps just needs some tweaks.
As much as we know about the donation chest in Occlo, newbies would not know about this to perhaps get some nice starting items.
Also, if they do pick an item up there that’s cursed… there is no way you’ll afford uncursing it – perhaps have a newbie mage in the dungeon that uncurses for free?

AdministratorThanks for the feedback, we will see what can be done to further improve the quality of the newbie dungeon.
