Since rangers only have 1 way to cure/bless/heal themselves – it’s fark annoying to have to wait so long in between consuming fish. Seriously?

While you’re in the middle of a fight you have to run away just so you can wait for the delay?

Please can it either be removed or dropped significantly? IE Item ID has a massively shorter delay from 90 skill.. I’m on 130 fishing and waiting so long to use fish.

The main focus should be to reduce incoming damage rather than heal up lost health. This is done by using protection items. If you have level 3 protection, spells won’t do significant damage, and level 4 protection negates the element completely.

That being said, there are several ways to heal up lost health as a ranger. First, you have fish, which heal for 50 hp. On top of that there are healing potions (healing potions heal a portion of health, whereas Tamla potions restore all your health); you can invest in magery (for a pretty decent heal, though dependent on mana); or invest some points in healing (and heal with bandages).

“Running away to heal” is a perfectly viable element of the game.

I just took on a succubi and admittedly, it was pretty lame. The same pretty much applies to majority of bigger creatures.

I get what you’re saying, but that’s kind of “unfair” isn’t it? Mages heals with spells, warriors heals with healing, bards heals with song… ranger? Heals with fish but there’s delays? Perhaps simply half the delay.

Honestly I just wrote a post about balance but honestly I think rangers are just fine and they own here any more faster healing will make rangers up there with thief’s.. I hunted with a ranger and they do way more damage to monsters then my lvl 5 warrior… if they heal any faster in pvp will be impossible to kill you guys lol… why not use pots from a mage tamala ?????? Lol… probably same shit and wtf I thought kindling heals rangers the little fire thing lol??? Tell me they removed that from this shard also lol

Oh wow… pvp you say? I was referring to fighting creatures.
But, since you brought it up… Every single time that I’ve been pk’ed, i’ve been one shot killed. So healing a little faster being a ranger will not change that even the slighted.

I’m referring to other classes not needing other classes for their skills – ie, rangers use fish to cure, heal, bless, yet the bless isn’t even remotely the same as mages(nor would I expect it to be), and now I need to use alchemy potions to heal up and add magery onto my ranger for the same? That’s just silly in my opinion.

I’m a level 3 going level 4 ranger with 135 fishing, 130 lore, 130 cooking, 130 tracking, 130 camping… fishing alone being that high together with cooking should give me something decent…yet it doesn’t. Cooking and camping is an absolute waste to be honest, why not combine those 2 for instance to calculate the actual use of the magic fish?

By the way, I completely agree that the classes are unbalanced, but in this specific post, I’m referring to bug/suggestions for this specific class.

                sharnthor,

What do you mean “other classes not needing other classes for their skills”?
Every class is reliant on mages for buffs and potions.
Every class is reliant on rangers for fish.

Warriors can heal (and cure) with bandages. Warriors have very little to offer other classes.
Thieves can heal a small portion through poisoned bandages. Thieves also have very little to offer other classes.
Bards (with songbook) can heal a portion through songs. Bards are mainly a group character with little use solo (but it can be done).
Rangers are the least dependent and most self-sustaining class in the game currently.

And of course, all classes rely on proper itemization to take on end game bosses by themselves.

Hook me up if you want to get some tips on survivability – I assure you that rangers are not in a weak spot compared to other classes.

I think this would be better described as useless skills. Alot of characters have useless skills. Rangers are still very Proficient. However. Non Aggressive health regen with camping would be nice. Useless in combat but away from the fighting just drop a fire to heal up. Cooking, With the way gold is done cooking is practically useless however i dont think that cooking should be changes so much as to add in all these new recipes. I think faster looping above a certain skill point would be nice or even just be able to go above ten fish at a time. 20/30/50 This way the gold that sell for 1gp would now be able to be cooked faster. Less time cooking your 100s of 1000s uncooked fish thats completely useless. Also Salmon and sushi are kinda of useless. You can cook regular fish fast enough to not really get any use out of the bonus of making that. I think tactically the rangers are pretty good. They just have no use for their non combat uses. You could argue the same for warriors but warriors can use so much more gear. You dont have to scour the earth for a bow. spear bardi pitchfork whatever lands in your hands you can successfully pummel everything with it and with the use of prots magic weakness is null and void. Shields and armor work well. Spears for them pesky runners. Now if rangers could shoot on the go id say their isnt any real reason to be a warrior. This would be super op though. So in turn some better support skills would be nice. And i dont mean combat support i mean resource support. and also with warriors. they cost practically nothing to build. rangers cost alot in just arrows and the fish they can create doesnt support them to even train archery without long lulls. or other people/characters to support them. In the end i guess im saying is fighting and survival ability is fine but useless for any kind of trade.

well, have you checked to see how much sushi sells for? I am pretty sure that only rangers get their cooking that high to be able to make sushi and it sells for more than 1gp a piece
