Some examples of how other ZH servers I played on through the years handled a lot of the skills considered to be useless:
Camping – Resting bonus giving increased mana, stamina and health regen. Can only be used outdoors in the wild. Took ~1min idle next to a camp to trigger the resting bonus. Lasted about an hour.
Cooking – Able to craft/cook food that can give buffs. Common food buffs gives less and those made from (example) dragon meat would give better buffs. These could be sold.
TasteID – You’re able to ID food making turning normal food into buffed food. This was long ago but I remember the journal msg reading something like this: “You taste of the *fish steak* appears to be off, you sprinkle herbs over it increasing its effect.”
I’m paraphrasing off course, but was something along those lines.
Now there was a trick to this from what I remember. The end result food was better than the cooked food. The trick or something was that you had to have Taste ID gear on while consuming. I actually don’t even remember if you had to physically TasteID the food itself or just have high taste ID while consuming that gave/caused the effect to trigger. I believe this was to prevent Bards from TasteID’ing and reselling food. It was unique and to them alone.Wrestling – Caused piercing, stamina drain and ability to dodge/evade attacks. Wrestling warriors had to balance dex and strength. The higher the dex the more chance to evade attacks. I honestly never played a wrestling warrior but they were popular. The drawback from what I can remember was that you couldn’t use a shield and obviously no weapon. Your stamina would drain as well when attacking (even tho low stamina wouldn’t cause you to do less damage or stop attacking) and it was common for Wrestling warriors to carry a lot of refreshing/stamina potions.

Pretty good ideas. I’m always bummed to see a skill that doesn’t provide any real advantages too.
Wrestling – That all sounds pretty cool. One thing I would add is maybe a chance to dismount/disarm opponet. Since your hands are free, you’d logistically be able to grab their wrists to disarm or their body to pull and dismount them.
Anatomy – Would be nice if this provided the same perk as Eval Int, giving the protections of bosses at 135/150.
Lockpicking – Would be cool if there were random chests in the dungeons and across the world map that were 160 difficulty, and set with traps, but loaded with world-boss drops. Would give Remove Trap a new purpose too.
Spirit Speak – Can’t think of any way to re-purpose this, just pointing out that it’s useless. Lol

I’ve honestly never played on a server that had an idea for Spirit Speak.
Some straight up removed it or swapped it out for another skill.
Speaking to ghosts are fine, but rarely used.January 22, 2019 at 10:08 pm #2805nekros13Member- Topics - 6

I was on a server before that used Spirit Speak in graveyards – you could call bosses etc by doing ss on a grave
I would love to see some uses on these useless skills though – spirit speak, cooking, camping, tase id, wrestling.

@moondog Jup, that’s correct. Was pretty awesome actually – depending on your skill level, you could call up some good champs with great items

@sharnthor Played on about 6 or 7 ZH servers in my life time, TFR hands down the best. Insane how that was over 15 years ago.
I’d pay a lot of money to get my hands on those server files. -
